The Company
The hydroelectric activity of the Ferrero Group begins in 1984 with the acquisition of two power plants in Valle d’Aosta, Donnas and Grand Vert, thus establishing the Società Idroelettrica di Donnas (Donnas Hydroelectric Company).
In the following years, the Ferrero Group, through the S I E D and its subsidiaries, acquired other plants on the national territory, thus reaching at a park of 17 power plants. This production can meet the annual electrical energy needs of more than 104,000 households.
Since 2008, the Ferrero Group is also engaged in the construction of projects in the hydroelectric field abroad, more precisely in Chile. The hydroelectric plants already constructed are located in the Puyehue, Rupanco and Hidroangol lakes area, in the Araucanian Region. Four other projects are also under construction in the Puyeuhe Rupanco Lake area, which will ensure a total power output of a further 55 MW.
